Dhanush and Aishwarya to divorce; Request to respect privacy

Dhanush, his wife and director Aishwarya are divorcing. The two made the announcement in a statement released on social media. The couple got married on November 18, 2004. He has two sons named Yatra and Linga. Dhanush and Aishwarya note that this was a journey of growth and understanding and now is the time for them to part ways.

’18 years together with friends and partners, as parents and mutual benefactors. It was a journey of growth, understanding, adjustment and reconciliation. Today we are at a crossroads. Aishwarya and I have decided to separate as partners and to find time to realize ourselves for our own good as individuals. Please respect our decision. Aishwarya, Rajinikanth’s eldest daughter, is all set to make her debut as a playback singer. Deva sang in the music for the film Ramana in 2000 but the film was not released. Aishwarya’s first release was in 2003 with the film ‘Whistle’. Aishwarya also made her directorial debut in 2012 with ‘3’ starring Dhanush.
