Covid 19 Updates: 3,380 deaths in last 24 hours; India records 1.20 lakh new Covid-19 cases
On Saturday, India reported 1,20,529 new coronavirus infections, the lowest in 58 days. In the last 24 hours, over 3,380 fatalities were reported, the Union health and family welfare ministry said.
Data from the health ministry showed, the total tally of infections stood at 2,86,94,879 and the death toll at 3,44,082. On a sustained downward slope, the active caseload further decreased to 15,55,248; less than 2 Lakh since 9 successive days. Active cases decreased by 80,745, in the last 24 hours.
India has recorded over 85,000 deaths, in the last three weeks. On May 21 India registered record fatalities due to Covid-19 with 4,529 deaths. It surpassed 4,468 deaths in the US on January 12, and earlier 4,211 in Brazil on April 6.
