Covid 19 is severe in the country. The daily number of cases crossed three lakh. According to official figures, Covid confirmed 3,17,532 cases in 24 hours. 491 people died. 2,23,990 people were cured. The TPR is 16.41%. At the same time, 9,287 Omicon cases have been reported in the country so far. Earlier in May, the number of Covid cases in the country had crossed three lakh. Health experts estimate that the spread of Omicron has led to a sharp rise in cases in the third wave.

Of the states, Maharashtra still has the highest number of Covid patients. While the rate of positivity decreased in Mumbai, the spread of the disease increased in Pune. More than 12,000 people were diagnosed with the disease in Pune yesterday. Pune has become the most affected district in Maharashtra. In Mumbai, Covid attacked 12 police officers in one day.

The disease is spreading in the states where elections are to be held. At the same time, the number of cases is on the rise in Gujarat, Assam, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. There has been a slight increase in the number of Covid cases in Delhi over the previous day.

Meanwhile, the DCGI expert panel recommended that Covaxin and Covishield be granted full commercial licenses. The expert committee had yesterday considered the application filed by manufacturers Bharat Biotech and the Serum Institute for permission. Currently, both vaccines are licensed for emergency use only.
