Brandman Bets Big on Premium Sportswear Boom in India

Brandman Retail, the Indian partner of global sneaker brand New Balance, plans to expand its retail footprint more than fivefold by 2028 as demand for premium international sportswear brands continues to grow across the country. The company also aims to introduce new global labels, including Salomon, Saucony, Anta, and Wilson, to capitalize on India’s evolving consumer preferences.

Currently operating 22 outlets across New Balance and Sneakrz formats, Brandman plans to increase its store count to 45 locations by April 2027 and further expand to 116 stores by 2028. The company is targeting not only major metropolitan cities but also emerging markets such as Jaipur, Patna, Lucknow, and Chandigarh, where awareness of global brands has risen significantly through digital platforms and social media.

Brandman reported strong financial growth in fiscal 2026, with revenue rising 20% year-on-year to ₹162 crore and profit after tax increasing to ₹25.3 crore. Company executives say Indian consumers are increasingly focusing on value and quality rather than just price, creating new opportunities for premium sportswear brands in one of the world’s fastest-growing retail markets.
