BPCL-Sembcorp JV Wins Green Hydrogen Deal

A joint venture between Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Sembcorp Industries has secured India’s lowest-priced green hydrogen supply contract. The venture, NeuEN Green Energy, will supply 10,000 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.

The hydrogen will be delivered to Numaligarh Refinery Ltd, where the project will also include setting up a production facility in the northeastern state of Assam. The agreed price of 279 rupees per kilogram marks a record low for green hydrogen in the country.

The project is expected to begin commercial operations by 2028, highlighting India’s push toward cleaner energy solutions. It also signals growing investment and collaboration in the green hydrogen sector.
