Blue Star Q4 Profit Rises on Strong AC Demand

Blue Star Limited reported a 17.1% increase in its fourth-quarter profit, driven by robust demand for air conditioners as households prepared for the summer season. The company posted a consolidated net profit of 2.27 billion rupees, up from 1.94 billion rupees a year earlier, marking a strong finish to the fiscal year.

Revenue growth remained modest, rising 1.3% to 40.72 billion rupees. Its unitary products segment, which contributes about half of total revenue, also grew 1.3%, supported by higher distributor sales in March and increased retailer stocking ahead of peak summer demand. The company noted that late-season demand for room ACs helped it achieve its highest-ever quarterly revenue.

Profit was further supported by a one-time gain of 175.2 million rupees due to a partial reversal of labour code-related charges. However, Managing Director Vir S. Advani cautioned that the ongoing Middle East crisis could disrupt supply chains and potentially impact future growth.
