BJP offers bribe to break away from Patidar agitation, alleges PAAS leader
Accusing the BJP of using illicit means to contain the Patidar agitation, a Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti leader, Narendra Patel, has alleged that the saffron party has offered him a huge sum of one crore rupee as bribe to break away from the Patidar agitation, which has been shacking the BJP-led Gujarat government since its emergence, and join the far-rightist party.
Mr Patel, who joined the BJP on last day, has claimed that he has done such an act to expose the illicit means which the BJP has been using since the rise of the Patidar movement to destroy it.
He has also alleged that a former Patidar leader, who has broken away from the PAAS, has acted as a mediator in this illicit deal.
It is learned that the money that the leader has received as an advance has been contributed to the wellbeing of the families of those killed in the Patidar agitation.
In the recent past, several Patidar leaders have raised similar allegation. There is no doubt in the fact that the PAAS is extremely injurious to the bright future of the Gujarat BJP.
Anyway, the Gujarat BJP has called it as a congress-motivated conspiracy to taint the image of the party.
