Amazon Opens 1.1M Sq Ft Bengaluru Campus for 7,000 Staff
Amazon has inaugurated a massive new office campus in Bengaluru, spread across 1.1 million square feet and designed to accommodate over 7,000 employees. The 12-storey facility, built over five acres and located around 15 km from Kempegowda International Airport, is being described as the company’s second-largest office in Asia. The campus will house teams across ecommerce, operations, payments, technology, and seller services.
The facility was inaugurated by Karnataka’s Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Dr M.B. Patil. The launch underscores Amazon’s long-term commitment to India, where it has already invested nearly $40 billion and plans to invest an additional $35 billion by 2030. Company executives highlighted Bengaluru’s continued importance as a core innovation and technology hub in Amazon’s India growth story.
Designed to foster collaboration and flexibility, the new campus features modern meeting rooms, huddle spaces, breakout zones, and event areas that can host over 200 people. Employees will also have access to recreation facilities including basketball and pickleball courts, an amphitheatre, landscaped lawns, and community spaces. Two floors of cafeterias offering global cuisines further enhance the workplace experience, reinforcing Amazon’s expanding footprint in India’s leading tech city.
