Massive fire in Delhi; Seven deaths and 60 huts burnt to ashes

The fire broke out last night at Gokulpuri. Authorities confirmed seven dead. Sixty huts were burnt down. The fire was brought under control. But the cause of the fire is not clear. Police are camping in the area. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the place.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Devesh Kumar Mahla said the fire was reported around 1 am and police and firefighters arrived at the scene. “The fire broke out in the Gokalpuri PS area around 1 am. Immediately, teams with all rescue equipment reached the spot. We contacted the fire brigade and then put out the fire by 4 am,” the Additional DCP said. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed grief over the incident.

The death of these seven victims has been confirmed by the Delhi Fire Department. “I received this awful news this morning,” Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted. I’m going to go meet the individuals that are suffering.” The police stated in this case that they received information about a fire in the slums of Gokulpuri late at night. We got in touch with the fire department right away. They arrived at the scene and rescued the people while also informing them that seven charred remains had been discovered nearby.
