The Telugu Desam Party has severed its political ties with the National Democratic Alliance led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, leaving the party which rule the country in a difficult juncture.

In order to spoil the YSR Congress Party’s move to take the credit of bringing a non-confidence motion against the central government, the TDP will itself submit a separate non-confidence motion in the parliament through its members.

Through the aforementioned move, the party, which rules the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, is trying to avoid the embarrassment of supporting the YSRCP’s political move against the centre.

After announcing his decision to severe the ties with the saffron regime, the AP CM, Chandrababu Naidu, has asserted that he would write to the BJP chief, Amit Sha, and other partners of the NDA alliance why he has taken such a decision.

Though it is said that the reluctance of the central government to grand special category status to the state is the reason why the TDP has taken such a decision, there are speculations prevail among political observers that it is the BJP’s move to appease the Jana Sena Party that has prompted the TDP to take a swift action.

The NDA has not yet publically responded to the TDP’s move.
