5 Disastrous Remakes Of Mollywood Movies

Remakes always brings high anticipation as the original has special place on everyone’s heart. If the original is a Malayalam movie then the exception is on another level . Today let’s go through 5 remake Malayalam  movies which was a disappointment to all the film lovers.

Hitler

Hitler is a 1996 Indian Malayalam-language comedy-drama film written and directed by Siddique. Hitler, which had Mammootty in the lead role was remade in to Hindi as Krodh, where we get to see Suniel Shetty replacing Mammootty, as the hero. The film was an utter disappointment with wrong casting affecting the film badly.

In Harihar Nagar

In Harihar Nagar is a 1990 Indian Malayalam-language comedy thriller movie written and directed by Siddique-Lal. It stars Mukesh, Siddique, Jagadish and Ashokan in lead role. In 2007, Priyadarshan came up with the film Dhol, which was the remake of the hit Malayalam film. The film was a disappointment when compared with the original.

CID Moosa

C.I.D. Moosa is a 2003 Indian Malayalam language slapstick comedy film directed by Johny Antony, and co-produced by and starring Dileep in the title role. CID Moosa is one of the best entertainers of all time. The film was remade in to Tamil as Seena Thana 001, where Prasanna is replacing Dileep the lead role. Even though, the film was a moderate success at the box-office, it was nowhere near the original.

Spadikam

Spadikam is a 1995 Indian Malayalam-language action drama film written and directed by Bhadran. The film stars Mohanlal in the lead role. Spadikam was remade in to Tamil as Veerappu, with Sundar C and Prakash Raj replacing the roles done by Mohanlal and Thilakan respectively in the original. Although, the film was a success at the box-office, the film wasn’t appreciated by the Malayali audience.

Thalavattam

Thalavattam is a 1986 Indian Malayalam-language drama film written and directed by Priyadarshan, starring Mohanlal, M. G. Soman and Karthika. The movie was made by the director himself by the name Kyon Ki, starring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. The film flopped at the box-office and is considered to be one of the worst remakes.
