Vodafone Idea Extends Kyndryl Partnership for 3 Years to Boost Cybersecurity & Automation

Vodafone Idea has extended its partnership with Kyndryl for another three years, aiming to transform its IT operations and enhance cybersecurity capabilities. The renewed agreement includes developing a cyber resilience framework focusing on security governance, data protection, and zero-touch services. Kyndryl will also redesign Vi’s cybersecurity architecture to match evolving regulatory requirements and improve early detection of vulnerabilities.

The announcement triggered volatility in Vodafone Idea’s stock on Thursday, with shares opening slightly higher before falling nearly 2% to ₹10.46 on the BSE. As part of the partnership, Vi will adopt an advanced automation-driven IT operations model designed to reduce manual intervention and strengthen operational agility. Kyndryl Bridge, the AI-powered integration platform already used by Vi, has deployed more than 1,000 automations, cutting event noise by 15%.

Vi CTO Jagbir Singh said the renewed collaboration supports the telco’s goal of building an intelligent, scalable IT backbone that enables rapid innovation. Kyndryl India President Lingraju Sawkar highlighted the companies’ long-standing relationship, noting past achievements such as the seamless integration of legacy entities and maintaining uninterrupted operations during the pandemic.
