UP police shoot dead criminal in an encounter

Agra police shot dead a notorious criminal. Mukesh Thakur, who was arrested by the police in a bank robbery case, was killed in an encounter while trying to escape. The incident took place while evidence was being taken in the theft case.

Mukesh was brought in to find the gun used in the attack. But he was trying to escape from custody. The suspect, who snatched the police gun, continued firing. With this, the police also retaliated.

Meanwhile, he was shot dead by the police. He was rushed to hospital but could not be pronounced alive, authorities said. Police arrested the accused on Sunday night. Mukesh hails from Baseri in Rajasthan. He is accused in several criminal cases including murder, robbery and kidnapping.
