Ukrainian president-elect quips Russia’s passport plan

Ukrainian president-elect Volodymyr Zelensky, who recently won the president election wresting a good number of votes, has quipped the new Russian passport scheme, which offers a chance to any Ukrainian to own a Russian passport without huge difficulties.

Mocking the Russian offer, the Ukraine’s president-elect has also said that it was ready to offer its passport to all those who suffer under any authoritarian regime particularly the Russian authoritarian regime.

The Russian passport scheme was initially introduced to help the Ukrainian separatists fighting against the Ukrainian government with the support of Russia.

Later, it was expanded including the entire Ukrainian population under their beneficiary category.

When the new leader was elected in Ukraine, there were allegations that the leader was inexperienced and he would be misused by Russians to push forward their political agenda.

With his comment, the president-elect has proved wrong all such allegations levelled against him by the supporters of those who were ousted from the power by the Ukrainians in the recent election.
