To Get VIP Number For Scooty, People Bid ₹ 1.12 Crore In Himachal Town
The Registration and Licensing Authority Kotkhai has received an astounding bid of 1.12 crore online for a posh registration number (HP 99-9999) for a scooter.
According to representatives of the transport department, 26 bidders submitted bids for the number, which had a 1,000 reserve price.
The biggest bid received online to date is 1,12,15,500 yen, according to the officials. Friday would see a freeze in the bidding.
The qualifications of the bidder are unknown, and if he fails to pay the money, the number will be given to the next bidder.
The officials, however, did not completely rule out the possibility that the bidder would use pressure techniques to eliminate the rivals and stated that a penalty would need to be imposed if the offer money was not deposited.
In order to put an end to such activities, he continued, “We are also thinking about including a condition to deposit 30% of the bid amount at the time of bidding which will be forfeited in case the complete money is not deposited.”
Scooters range in price from 70,000 to 1,80,000 rupees. In a few areas of the state with a mountainous topography, it is effective. According to Lovnesh, proprietor of Lovnesh Motors in Shimla, sales of scooters have increased by 30–40% in hilly places like Shimla compared to the post–Covid time.
According to Lovnesh, after Covid, individuals preferred driving their own cars because during Covid, public transportation was either unavailable or subject to restrictions.
