Influencer Sapna Gill Sent To 4-Day Police Custody In Prithvi Shaw Selfie Row

Social media personality Sapna Gill was placed in police detention by a court in this city on Friday for reportedly assaulting Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw’s car and manhandling him after an argument about taking photos.

An confrontation between Shaw and the social media influencer and her male friend broke out early on Wednesday morning outside a luxurious hotel in the suburban Santacruz area after the player refused to take selfies with her. On Thursday night, complaints for suspected rioting and extortion were also filed against Gill’s friend Shobhit Thakur and six other people.

According to the lawsuit, Thakur and Gill approached Shaw at the hotel to take a selfie. At first, the cricketer complied. Shaw refused their request to take any more selfies, but they persisted. Following that, Gill and Thakur allegedly started fighting and acting inappropriately around him. Additionally, the lawsuit claimed that Gill and Thakur were both drunk.
