Tata Motors bags order of 1350 bus chassis from UP State Road Transport Corp

Tata Motors has successfully secured a significant order from the Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) to provide 1,350 bus chassis. The competitive procurement process, conducted through e-bidding and government tendering, resulted in Tata Motors emerging as the chosen supplier. The company expressed its appreciation to the Uttar Pradesh State Government and UPSRTC for the opportunity to contribute to the enhancement of public transport. The delivery of the bus chassis will be carried out in phases, according to an official statement by Tata Motors.

In an official statement, Rohit Srivastava, Vice President & Business Head – CV Passengers at Tata Motors, emphasized the company’s mission to make public transport more effective and efficient. He expressed gratitude for the chance to supply a modern fleet of bus chassis and highlighted the strengths of the Tata LPO 1618 model. Recognized as a proven workhorse, the Tata LPO 1618 boasts robust build quality, advanced engineering, and low maintenance costs. Designed for intercity and long-distance travel, the model conforms to BS6 emission standards, offering superior performance, excellent passenger comfort, and an industry-leading total cost of ownership (TCO).

Tata Motors, a part of the Tata Group, shared that it has supplied over 58,000 buses to various state and public transport undertakings to date. This track record underscores the company’s expertise and reliability in providing efficient and high-quality transportation solutions. Despite a 0.79% dip in Tata Motors’ shares to ₹718.95 apiece on the NSE during late afternoon trade on Tuesday, the stock has shown an impressive 82% rise in value since the beginning of 2023.
