Swiggy Appoints Nandita Sinha as Instamart CEO
Swiggy has appointed Nandita Sinha as the Chief Executive Officer of its quick commerce platform, Instamart, effective August 3, following the resignation of Amitesh Kumar Jha. Sinha, the former CEO of Myntra, brings over two decades of leadership experience, having held key roles at Flipkart, Britannia, and Hindustan Unilever.
The leadership change comes at a time when competition in India’s fast-growing quick commerce market is intensifying. Companies are rapidly expanding their dark store networks, improving delivery speeds, and investing heavily to capture a larger share of the estimated $11.5 billion industry. Swiggy has also faced investor concerns over slowing growth at Instamart amid increasing pressure from rivals.
Instamart continues to compete with major players such as Blinkit and Zepto, while global giants Amazon and Walmart-backed Flipkart are accelerating their quick commerce expansion, particularly in smaller cities. Swiggy is expected to announce its first-quarter earnings on Thursday, with investors closely watching the company’s performance and future strategy.
