Stellantis Rules Out Major Europe Expansion for JLR, Tata Partnerships
Stellantis has said its recent partnerships with Jaguar Land Rover and Tata Motors are not currently aimed at expanding operations in Europe. The automaker clarified that the collaborations were mainly designed for the U.S. and Indian markets under its long-term global strategy.
Stellantis Europe chief Emanuele Cappellano said the company may consider European opportunities in the future if strong product benefits emerge, but added that it is “not the main focus” right now. Analysts had speculated the partnerships could help support Stellantis’ technology and premium vehicle plans in Europe.
The company is also exploring future options for its premium brand Alfa Romeo and considering selling a niche Jeep model in Europe that would be produced in China with partner Dongfeng Motor Corporation. Stellantis recently expanded its China strategy through new manufacturing and export agreements.
