Spurious liquor claims six lives in UP

As many as six people have been killed in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh due to the conception of spurious liquor. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered a thorough inquiry into the incident. Around ten excise officials have been temporarily removed from their respective posts in connection with the incident. Seven senior excise officials have visited the spot at the behest of the CM. The UP CM has also sought a special report from the principle secretary (excise) about the incident. The CM has ordered stern action against all those responsible for the incident.
Several people, who have suffered serious health difficulties due to the conception of the liquor, have been admitted to the nearby hospitals.

As per a preliminary report, the affected brought the liquor from a local shop in the Ramanagar region of the Barabanki district.

The authorities have booked the owner of the shop, from where the liquor was brought by the affected.

At this moment, it remains unclear from where the shop got the spurious liquor. An investigation is on. More details are awaited.

The spurious liquor tragedy is not uncommon in this part of the country. But, not any time in the recent history this many people have been affected due to that.
