Rain batters North India
At least eleven people have been killed and several others injured due to the uncompromising rainfall, which has been battering the North States of India for last hours.
The North Indian state of Punjab has already announced red alert in the state and asked their disaster management officials to stay vigil.
The hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Haryana are the most affected regions. The majority of those killed due to the disaster is from these states.
The preponderance of the affected states has directed the closure of their schools and other educational institutions.
It is said that all affected states are ready and fully prepared to confront the challenge posed by the heavy rainfall.
Apart from the state governments, the central government is also monitoring the situation closely. They will defiantly send the central assistances, if necessary.
India is one of the Asian countries which have witnessed the negative side of climate change this year the most.
A month ago, the Indian state of Kerala witnessed a serious flood potential enough to create serious long-term damages in the life of those affected by it.
It is high time to create a special institution to monitor the climate change related disasters and articulate the step necessary to overcome those disasters.
