President reminds importance of skill development, education

While speaking in a conference convened by the Indian Economic Association, Indian President Pranab Mukherjee reminded the audience about the importance of skill development and value education.Recalling the glorious history of the Indian education, he mentioned the achievements of the ancient educational institutions. He claims that we had several world class educational institutions during the ancient age. He reportedly expressed concern about the diminishing educational standards in our educational institutions. Reports say that the Indian educational institutions had not secured a decent position in the world educational institution rankings. It added that only feeble Indian educational institutions have managed to enter into the top hundred list of the ranking. Eventhough we have around thirty six thousand collages, only two colleges have grabbed a position in the ranking list. President suggested that the youth country, India, must give greater importance for empowering the young citizens. Stressing his point, he further indicates that the quality education is closely related to the effective empowerment of the Indian youth. Meanwhile, in his speech, he stressed that the country is obliged to generate adequate employment opportunities for the ambitious educated-youth.  In addition, he elucidates the need for nourishing an entrepreneurial culture. In our past, we had numerous renowned universities and educational institutions, and we were keen to explore the opportunities of business. Unfortunately, the new development indicates that we had eventually lost our enthusiasm some were in the midst of a progressive journey.
