Delhi tightens traffic rules: more than 10,000 licences snatched

After receiving a strict order from the SC, the Delhi traffic police have tightened the traffic rules in the city. Reports say that the police authority is currently putting extreme-vigilance to bar the traffic-rule violation. Report added that at least 10,000 licences have been snatched by the Delhi traffic police form those people, who violated the traffic rules. Recently, the Delhi traffic authority had received a strict direction from the Supreme Court of India about the traffic violations. Later, the court had created a committee to suggest the regulation. The snatched licences will face a short-term suspension for at least three-month from the date of cease. According to the report, around six thousand licences, which were snatched by the police, belongs to Delhi residents. Interestingly, the other half, which sum up around more than 50% of the total snatched licences, belongs to the non-Delhi residents. Meanwhile, Media reported that the police had strictly observed the regulation and was keen to curtail each-and-every traffic violence. Surprisingly, the red-signal-jumping was the most-repeated violation apart from the over-speed and drunken-driving. Media reported as source as saying; most of the riders are unaware about the new regulations. Ridiculing the argument, Traffic Commissioner Dr. Muktesh told to Medias that they had given strict instructions to police to carry the ‘government order notice’ and the ‘new cutting’ to avoid such situations. However, He admits that the several police officers faced the resistance from the drivers during the operation. The Delhi government had recently grabbed the attention through its strict motor polices; last week, they had regulated the goods transport through its highway. Moreover, they are trying to bring down the diesel vehicle population in the state. The Delhi is the most polluted city in India. It seems that the state must consider more strict regulations.
