Prada Launches ₹17,000 Chai Latte-Scented Perfume

Italian luxury brand Prada has unveiled a chai-infused perfume, Infusion de Santal Chai, priced at ₹17,098 for a 100 ml bottle. Designed for both men and women, the fragrance blends creamy sandalwood with spicy chai latte notes, complemented by citrus, cardamom, and comforting musks. The perfume belongs to the woody and milky family and offers a warm, cozy scent profile.

This launch follows Prada’s controversial kolhapuri-inspired sandals, which sparked criticism for cultural appropriation last year. The brand had previously showcased open-toe braided flats resembling traditional Kolhapuri chappals from Maharashtra without crediting local artisans, leading to backlash and discussions with the Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

Prada later announced a limited-edition Kolhapuri sandal collection, producing 2,000 pairs in Maharashtra and Karnataka. The new footwear will be available from February 2026 across 40 Prada stores worldwide and online, alongside the latest chai-scented perfume, showcasing the brand’s continued experimentation with Indian-inspired motifs.
