PM Modi Vows Justice After Deadly Delhi Blast During Bhutan Visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently in Bhutan for the 70th birthday celebrations of the nation’s fourth king, expressed deep grief over the blast that killed nine people near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening. Addressing an event in Bhutan, he said that India stands firmly with the victims’ families and assured that investigating agencies are working tirelessly to uncover the conspiracy behind the attack.

Modi stressed that those responsible for the explosion would not be spared and that he had been closely monitoring developments throughout the night. The deadly blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car near the Red Fort Metro Station, damaging multiple vehicles in the vicinity and prompting a major security probe.

Investigations have revealed that the vehicle was allegedly driven by Umar Mohammad, a Pulwama-based doctor with suspected links to a terror module in Faridabad, where a huge cache of explosives was seized. Police sources indicate the blast likely involved ammonium nitrate and detonators, and may be connected to the recently uncovered “white collar” terror operation that led to several arrests and the recovery of nearly 2,900 kg of explosive materials.
