In a video address, PM Modi said, “First budget of Amrit Kaal will build a strong foundation for building a developed India. This budget will fulfil dreams of aspirational society including poor people, middle-class people, farmers.”

According to PM Modi, the middle class is a significant factor in achieving the country’s aspirations of prosperity and development, and our government has made several steps to strengthen it.

Speaking about several parts of the budget, Modi stated that the agriculture sector needed to repeat the success of digital payments and that a plan had been introduced for setting up the necessary digital infrastructure. Cooperatives will become the focal point of the growth of the rural economy, according to news agency PTI.

“An unprecedented investment of Rs 10 lakh crore in infrastructure will give speed and new energy to development,” he said.

Sitharaman made a number of announcements when she delivered the Union Budget 2023–24 to the House of Representatives, including a tax break for the salaried class and a push for the government to increase capital spending.

Under the new tax system, the budget raised the threshold for income tax rebates from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 7 lakh. The new tax system will now be the default system, Sitharaman continued. Another important point to remember is that the amount spent on capital investments has increased by 33% to Rs 10 lakh crore, or 3.3% of the GDP.
