Cabinet Greenlights ₹14,903 Crore Outlay for Extension of Digital India Initiative

The Cabinet has granted its approval for the expansion of the Digital India initiative, allocating a budget of ₹14,903 crore, as announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The enhanced project aims to build upon the achievements of its previous iteration. During the cabinet meeting, Prime Minister’s endorsement was secured for the Digital India program with the mentioned budget.

The plan entails the reskilling and upskilling of 5.25 lakh IT professionals, along with training 2.65 lakh individuals in the IT sector. Additionally, the extended Digital India initiative will incorporate nine new supercomputers under the National Supercomputing Mission (NCM), supplementing the existing deployment of 18 supercomputers.
