PM-KISAN 22nd Installment to Credit ₹18,640 Crore to Over 9.32 Crore Farmers Today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on Friday, transferring more than ₹18,640 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore farmer families across India through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The scheme provides financial assistance to eligible small and marginal farmers, offering ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each to support farming-related expenses such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment.
The latest installment also includes a significant number of women beneficiaries, with more than 2.15 crore women farmers set to receive funds in this round. Farmers must complete the mandatory e-KYC verification to receive the benefits. The government has introduced a new face-authentication mobile application to simplify the process, allowing farmers to complete verification from home without requiring OTPs or biometric devices. Alternatively, OTP-based verification can be done through the official portal, while biometric authentication remains available at Common Service Centres.
According to Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the scheme has transferred more than ₹4.09 lakh crore to farmers since its launch in February 2019, and the total will reach about ₹4.27 lakh crore after this installment. The release event for the 22nd payment will take place in Guwahati, Assam at 5:00 PM, while the previous installment was distributed in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu in November 2025.
