Padma Shri award should be withdrawn and arrested; Widespread criticism against Kangana
Actress Kangana Ranaut has been widely criticized for her controversial remarks. The leaders demanded the arrest of the actress and the withdrawal of the Padma Shri award. In a TV interview, Kangana Ranaut said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had actually given India independence in 2014 and that the independence in 1947 was a begging. Later, Aam Aadmi Party, BJP leader Varun Gandhi and Congress leader Anand Sharma came out against the actress. Anand Sharma’s tweet was tagged by President Ramnath Kovind.
He said the Padma award given to Kangana should be withdrawn and the mental state should be checked before awarding the civilian award. He also said that those who insult the country and the greats should not be rewarded. He said the actress’ statement was an insult to top leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and martyrs like Bhagat Singh and Chandrasekhar Azad. The Congress termed Kangana’s statement as treason.
Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik has alleged that Kangana Ranaut made controversial remarks after using drugs. His opinion was that the statement of the actress was after using the drug Malana cream. Condemns Kangana’s statement. They insulted the freedom fighters. He also demanded the withdrawal of the Padma award from them and their arrest. Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has asked the Mumbai police to register a case against Kangana.
