As many as eight hundred and forty four people have passed away in the earthquake and tsunami hit city of Indonesia Palu.

As per a report, hundreds of people are still missing. It is believed that many people are still trapped under the rubbles.

The rescue officials have sought the assistance of heavy machineries as the continuing tremors have made it difficult for the officials to carry out the rescue operation with the limited facilities and small machineries they have.

The Indonesian government has sought the help of the technically advanced countries which has enough expertise in the field of rescue operation. At present, it is not clear whether any country has expressed their willingness to offer their support to the ailing nation.

In the coming hours, the death toll is likely to increase as the rescue operators are slowly advancing towards the remote areas.

The disaster has badly affected the transporting and communication facilities of that part of the country. So far, the authorities have no information about the developments in many of the disaster-hit regions.

Are you in the area? Have you been affected by the disaster? If safe to do so, please share your experience with us to let our readers know how serious the situation is.
