NEET-UG 2026 Retest Row: Nagpur Student Allotted Abu Dhabi Centre Sparks NTA Review
A fresh controversy has emerged ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 retest after a student from Nagpur, Abdullah, was reportedly allotted an examination centre in Abu Dhabi despite having chosen nearby centres such as Nagpur, Wardha, and Bhandara. The unexpected allocation raised serious concerns, especially since the previous exam had assigned him a centre within Nagpur.
The student’s family alleged that the allocation error left them shocked and distressed, as the candidate does not possess a passport and would be unable to travel abroad at such short notice. They raised the issue with the helpline of the National Testing Agency, which reportedly acknowledged a technical glitch and assured corrective action after the complaint was filed.
Following intervention and growing backlash, officials indicated that the centre would be corrected and a revised admit card issued. The incident has added to ongoing scrutiny of the NTA’s examination management system, raising fresh questions about the reliability and transparency of national-level entrance exam processes.
