Modi Marks 25 Years in Government with Prayers and Seva Events
Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked 25 years of uninterrupted leadership in government on October 7, beginning with his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister in 2001. On the milestone day, Modi offered prayers and performed aarti at Shri Vinayak Mandir in Sarojini Nagar, Delhi, praying for the well-being of the country and renewing his commitment to public service.
The BJP, NDA allies and Union Cabinet marked the occasion through the month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, featuring blood donation drives, cleanliness campaigns, welfare outreach, cultural programmes, rallies and exhibitions across the country. Several NDA leaders, including Pawan Kalyan, Eknath Shinde, N. Chandrababu Naidu and Chirag Paswan, joined the celebrations.
Modi served as Gujarat Chief Minister for more than 12 years before becoming Prime Minister in 2014. He secured consecutive terms in 2019 and 2024, becoming the first Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru to lead a government for three consecutive terms. The Union Cabinet highlighted welfare schemes, infrastructure development, digital initiatives, economic reforms and other national programmes during the milestone celebrations.
