Loudspeakers Allowed Till Midnight On October 1 Amid Navratri In Mumbai

Today, in addition to October 3 and 4, the Maharashtra government permitted the use of loudspeakers in Mumbai till midnight on October 1 for the ongoing Navratri festival.
“On Tuesday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis decided to grant Mumbai a permit for the use of loudspeakers up until the stroke of midnight on October 1. During the ongoing Navratri festival, loudspeakers may be used until midnight on Saturday, October 1, in addition to October 3 (Monday) and October 4 (Tuesday) “According to a statement from the chief minister secretariat.

Under the Environment and Climate Change Department’s Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Revised Rules, 2017, the concerned district collectors have been authorized to announce exemptions for the use of loudspeakers on any 15 days in a year from 6 am to 12 pm, the release said.

It further stated that, in general, the district collectors set aside 13 days for this exemption, with the remaining two days being subject to change based on district-specific local factors.
