Manushi Chhillar debuts ‘Dweep,’ a swimwear brand focused on inclusivity and sustainability

Former Miss World and now actress Manushi Chhillar has stepped into entrepreneurship by launching her swimwear brand, ‘Dweep’. In an exclusive interview with CNBC-TV18, Chhillar revealed the inspiration behind the brand, citing her and co-founder Sheefa Gilani’s shared love for art, oceans, and fashion, and their observation of a gap in the market for sustainable fashion tailored to Indian body types.

‘Dweep’ prioritizes inclusivity and sustainability, offering a diverse range of sizes, adjustable features, and vibrant colors. The brand’s name, meaning ‘island’, reflects its commitment to nurturing individuals and the environment. Sustainability is at the core of ‘Dweep’, with the use of eco-friendly materials like Tencel Linen™️, recycled polyester, and organic cotton throughout the supply chain.

Chhillar, known for promoting body positivity, sees ‘Dweep’ as a fusion of her passions for art, oceans, and fashion, joining the ranks of Indian cinema personalities making successful forays into business. The brand’s long-term goals include establishing itself as a leader in swimwear and resort wear globally while supporting environmental conservation and ethical manufacturing.

In addition to her entrepreneurial endeavors, Chhillar is gearing up for her return to the big screen with upcoming projects like ‘Tehran’, alongside actor John Abraham.
