Man Killed Partner In Delhi, Dumped Body Pieces At 2 am For 18 Days: Cops

According to alarming allegations made by a guy, his live-in partner was strangled, her body was cut into 35 pieces, and over the course of 18 days, it was thrown in Delhi’s Mehrauli forest. Every day, he would leave at 2 am, according to sources, to dispose of the body parts. The offender has been given a five-day police detention sentence.

After a dispute, Aftab Ameen Poonawala, 28, is accused of strangling his live-in lover Shraddha Walkar on May 18. According to accounts, he then cut her body into 35 parts and purchased a 300-liter refrigerator to store them. He scattered the fragments across the Mehrauli woodland over the course of the following 18 days, they added.

“The duo fell in love while working in Mumbai and came to Delhi by April-end or May first week after facing opposition from their families. While they were living in the national capital, they had an argument in mid-May over marriage, which escalated, and he strangled her,” Ankit Chauhan, Additional DCP-I, South district, said.

“The accused had preserved the woman’s body in a fridge and disposed them on different occasions,” he added.

Shraddha, 26, met Poonawala while working at a call centre for a large corporation in Mumbai. They began dating and later resided together. The couple eloped and arrived in Delhi when her family rejected their relationship. They moved into a Mehrauli apartment to begin with.

Shraddha’s friend told her brother in September that her phone had been turned off for more than two months. Her family also looked at her social media accounts, but there had been no recent posts.

The victim’s father, Vikash Madan Walker, went to the Mumbai police in November and reported his daughter missing.

The victim’s last known location was discovered in Delhi during the first investigation, and the case was handed over to Delhi police as a result.

A link between his daughter and Poonawala was disclosed to the police by the victim’s father, who also accused him of being responsible for his daughter’s abduction.

When Vikas Madaan Walkar visited Delhi on November 8 to see how his daughter was doing, he discovered a lock on her apartment. He went to the Mehrauli Police and reported an alleged kidnapping. Mr. Walkar claimed in his complaint that Shraddha had previously told him that Poonawala frequently beat her.

“In a heart-wrenching case, a girl was killed by her boyfriend in Delhi and kept in the fridge in 35 pieces! The pieces of her dead body were thrown in different areas of the city. What kind of monsters are living in society? The police have arrested the accused, he should be punished severely,” Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal said in a tweet.
