NDA gaining strength in RS
The NDA led by the BJP government is gaining more strength in the Rajya Sabha, with the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s decision to step out from the grand alliance, in which the Congress Party and RJP are two prominent members, to join hands with the BJP in order to form the new government led by the BJP and JD (U) in the state. The JD (U) has nearly nine legislatures in the upper house. As per the report, some of them have expressed disagreement about the Bihar CM’s decisions. According to the report, some has openly expressed their reservation to the party leaders immediately after the decision to join hands with the BJP has been taken. As per the report published in a national media, M P Veerendra Kumar, the one and only parliamentarian of JD(U) from the state of Kerala, which has a different political background as that of Bihar, has informed the political leaders that the JD(U) Kerala wing and he, as an MP, cannot support the BJP due to the special political situation prevailing in the state. There have been reports that some national leaders belonging to the JD(U) have insisted that the JD(U) lawmakers of RS have to support BJP in the Sabha as it has accepted the support of the party in the state of Bihar in order to remain in the power. Last day, the JD(U) leader and Bihar CM submitted his resignation from the top post. Barely after 14 hours, he has formed another government with the help of the BJP, inviting wide flak from other members of the erstwhile grand alliance and the, so called, non-communal organisations.
