Kerala Flood: State Capital plays an important role in flood relief activities
The capital of Kerala, Trivandrum, which was spared by the deadly flood that engulfed the state lately, is playing an important role in the flood relief activities, which has been initiated by the state government and several non-government organisations.
So far, more than eighteen loads of trucks have been sent from the state capital to different flood affected locations across the state.
It is the sincere participate of the people living in the region that has helped the district administration to amass such a huge quantity of relief goods for the camps in such a short span of time.
The Trivandrum Corporation has played a vital role in the process of the collection of goods for those living in the relief camps.
It was on last Friday that the district administration commenced the process. On that day, it opened nearly sixteen counters in various regions of the district to collect goods from the public.
As per a data released on Sunday (last day), the corporation authorities collected more than fifty lakh Indian Rupees worth goods for the flood relief activities through the counters.
Another appreciable fact is that several residents of the district have voluntarily come forward to offer their homes to set up relief camps for the flood-affected people in other districts.
Those come forward with their helping hands deserve special appreciation. Service to the poor and needy is the true service to the god!!!
