IPL 2026 Final Shifted to Ahmedabad from Bengaluru
The final of the Indian Premier League has been moved from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad due to operational and logistical challenges, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed. The decision comes after local requirements in Bengaluru were deemed beyond the board’s standard protocols.
Authorities had earlier reviewed safety arrangements in Bengaluru following a tragic stampede outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium last year that resulted in multiple deaths. Despite efforts to improve safety, the venue was ultimately not cleared to host the high-profile final scheduled for May 31.
The final will now be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium, which has hosted several major events in recent years. As per the updated schedule, other playoff matches will take place in Dharamsala and New Chandigarh before culminating in Ahmedabad.
