International airline fares are likely to drop by up to 40 %

With the resumption of international flights suspended by Covid 19, domestic and international air fares are expected to fall by 40 %.

Air fares are expected to fall as airlines prepare to increase services to and from India. According to the Ixigo report, the increase in services will bring international flights from the country back to Covid’s rates. International services will resume from the 27th of this month, lifting the ban imposed in the wake of Covid. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced that it has decided to resume flights that were halted in the wake of Covid. Until now there were only special services with air bubble system.

India had planned to resume international flights from December 15 last year as the spread of Covid in the country has been brought under control in all the states. But fears, anxieties and vigilance about the sudden rise of the Omikron variant prompted the central government to change its decision. The ban on international flights was extended to January 31.

On March 23, 2020, the Central Government suspended international flights due to the expansion of Covid. This hampered the smooth running of international services for two years. At the same time, in the context of Covid, air bubble services were operated in and out of India based on the understanding reached between the countries.
