Indian Oil Raises Industrial LPG, ATF Prices
Indian Oil Corporation has increased the prices of industrial liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for foreign airlines, effective May 1. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder saw a sharp hike of ₹993, or nearly 48%, bringing the new rate to ₹3,071.5, according to the company’s statement.
The refiner also raised jet fuel prices for international carriers by $76.55 per kilolitre, pushing rates to $1,511.86 per kilolitre from $1,435.31. However, prices for domestic airlines and household LPG—commonly used for cooking—remain unchanged, indicating a targeted revision affecting industrial and international aviation segments.
The price increase follows a surge in global crude oil rates, which have crossed $100 per barrel amid supply concerns linked to disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz during the ongoing Iran conflict. Rising global energy costs continue to influence fuel pricing decisions in India.
