Indian Companies Expected to See Faster Profit Growth Despite Global Headwinds
Indian companies are expected to post stronger profit growth in the September quarter despite global and domestic challenges, according to estimates from five brokerages. Nifty 50 companies are forecast to report average net profit growth of around 20% year-on-year, compared with 18% in the April-June quarter.
Analysts expect resilient domestic demand, early festive-season inventory building and favourable pricing in some sectors to support earnings. Financial companies are expected to remain a major earnings driver, helped by healthy loan growth, lower credit costs and fewer bad loans.
However, global uncertainties are likely to affect individual sectors differently. Higher crude prices could raise costs for automobiles and consumer companies, while IT demand may remain subdued as clients delay non-essential spending amid geopolitical concerns, weak economic conditions and AI-related pricing pressures.
