Traditionally, the Indian Republic Day celebration is one of the official occasions when the country demonstrates its beauty of diversity and its strength of military capability alike.

This year’s Republic Day celebration has been no different from the previous year’s celebration. There have been the demonstrations of military capacity, cultural diversity, art forms, values the county upholds.

The country usually invites the heads of other countries as special guests in the Republic Day celebration. This time, unlike the previous Republic Day celebrations, the country has hosted more than ten supremos, as the leaders of the member countries of the Association of South East Asian Nations, who came to Delhi for a crucial meeting of the multilateral organisation, have been the special guests of the sixty-ninth Republic Day celebration, which held at Rajpath in the national capital. Tens of thousands of people, apart from the global leaders, have assembled in the venue to witness the colourful ceremony. The Indian President, Ram Nath Kovind, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have welcomed those who have come to see the spectacular function.

The Sultan of Brunei, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen, Philippines President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak, Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuân Phúc, Singapore President Halima Yacob, Myanmar President Htin Kyaw, Myanmar prime leader Aung San Suu Kyi, Thailand Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha and Laos Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith have been the special guests of the event.
