Hyundai India Expects Full Production Recovery After Supplier Fire

Hyundai Motor India has announced that normal production at one of its Chennai manufacturing plants is expected to resume by June 22 following disruptions caused by a fire at supplier Mobis India’s facility last week. The company said production levels will begin improving steadily and should regain pace by June 15.

The affected supplier provides audio systems and several other automotive components to Hyundai. Despite the disruption, Hyundai stated that its second Chennai plant and its Pune facility have continued operating with minimal impact, helping maintain overall production stability.

The automaker expects to recover most of the lost production within the next quarter and does not foresee any significant effect on June retail sales. Hyundai added that sufficient vehicle inventory is available across its dealer network to meet customer demand during the recovery period.
