How to Get Rid of a Double Chin
Double chins are often a natural result of becoming old or while gaining a little weight and normally nobody likes to have a double chin. The chance of having a double chin is thus due to over- weight. Thankfully, neck and chin toning can be achieved without surgery and all it takes to overcome the problem is by adding a few targeted exercises to the workout. Double chin can occur for few people genetically. Even though surgical treatments are there to cure, they can be too expensive. Apart from this there are many home treatments that can be used to get rid of this double chin.
The best way to reduce double chin is by reducing excess weight with proper diet and exercise. Instead of targeting any part of the body for fat loss it is recommended to lose fat from the entire body at once. By losing weight, excess body fat disappears first from the face. A healthy diet should be included in the daily menu including lean meats, low-fat dairy products, fruits, vegetables and whole grains which will thereby help in burning out excess fat from the body. Chewing gum helps in burning out the body fat that causes double chin and also keeps our facial skin firm. Practicing good posture is also a way to get rid of a double chin. It not only makes double chin less noticeable, but also strengthens jaw muscles to keep fat from building up under the chin. Especially during work an ergonomic, posture-correcting chair is recommended. Cocoa butter is also a good remedy for improving the elasticity of our skin thereby reducing double chin.
Massaging with wheat germ oil also helps a lot with the double chin problem and bringing it back to shape. It helps in tightening the skin and also provides ample nourishment. It is best recommended to apply the oil before going to bed and leaving it on skin overnight , for better results. Egg white mask is also a good remedy as it helps in skin tightening. It is also good for the overall health of the skin. Mix together two egg whites with one tablespoon of milk, honey and lemon juice and adding a few drops of peppermint oil, apply it on the area leaving it for 30 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. For better results it should be done once daily.
Natural mask with glycerin also helps in a greater way in getting rid of the double chin. This can be applied by mixing one tablespoon of glycerin, half tablespoon of bath salts and a few drops of rose water. Apply it on the neck and chin area leaving it for several minutes so that it absorbs into the skin. Wash it off with cool water. For better results apply this three to five times a week.
Chin exercises will also help in getting rid of this problem. It can help in stretching and toning face, neck and jaw muscles. It will also strengthen chin and neck muscles and relieve stiffness. Green tea is another solution to avoid double chin problem. Green tea speeds up the metabolism rate as it contains potent antioxidants and various other components. A daily intake of vitamin E is also a better way for avoiding double chin. Vitamin E increases the skin’s elasticity and the general health of the skin. Many food sources like green leafy vegetables, wheat germ oil, dairy products, brown rice, barley, legumes, nuts and seeds are very rich in vitamin E.
Massaging with milk helps in tightening and toning the skin around the chin area. It has one more advantage – by applying milk on skin it softens the skin and makes it more beautiful. Apply milk on chin and massage it for a few minutes then wash it off with lukewarm water. For better results , repeat it several times a day for several weeks. Applying a mask of milk and honey is also a better way for it. Mix it well and apply on the chin area. Apply it for 10 minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water. This should be done at least once daily. Melon too can help in toning the skin and thereby reducing the double chin. For better results apply melon juice with apple juice and use it to massage the soft tissues around the jaw line. Also add melon to the diet menu as it is high in water content. This will help in removing out toxins from the body and also help in reducing weight.
Change of hairstyle plays a major role in avoiding the notice of double chin. A medium cut just below the chin is the best remedy for this problem. Try layered waves or go for a long bob which should stop an inch or two just below the chin line. A full hairstyle balances the face and draws more attention away from the chin. , thereby solving the problem of double chin.
Water plays an important role in helping to lose weight and thereby in reducing the appearance double chin. It is observed that lack of water can add weight to the face. It is best to drink at least 10-12 glasses of water daily. Keeping the body hydrated is very important and so is flushing out all the unwanted impurities. At the same time, too much consumption of alcohol, coffee, tea and carbonated drinks should be avoided. Sitting posture is very important; always sit straight keeping head up, neck and body straight. Pay attention to the diet and avoid fatty food and mainly junk food thereby restricting the calorie intake.
