Bomb threat to New Zealand women’s team after New Zealand men’s team withdrew from tour due to security threat. The New Zealand women’s team, which is touring England, received a threatening message from an unknown person. Following this, security for the New Zealand team was increased. The New Zealand Cricket Board has confirmed that the threatening message was received.
The threatening message came as the New Zealand women’s team, which is touring England, faces them in the third ODI today. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a hotel where the New Zealand team was staying. The New Zealand team has been threatened with bombing on its return flight. With this, it was decided to increase security. At the same time, it has been announced that it will go ahead with the match to be held today.
‘The New Zealand women’s team has arrived in Leicester. As a precaution, their security has been beefed up. The New Zealand Cricket Board said in a statement that “messages that the team dropped out of training after receiving a threatening message are false.”
‘They didn’t go to training on Monday because of travel fatigue. The New Zealand board is yet to comment on the matter, the statement said.
