‘He always wanted to see me laugh,’ Shehnaaz Gill says of being trolled for enjoying life after Sidharth Shukla’s death
Shehnaaz Gill appeared on Shilpa Shetty’s talk show Shape of You recently. Shehnaaz discussed Sidharth Shukla and how she was trolled for enjoying herself after his death on the show. While the actor-singer refused to discuss her relationship with the Balika Vadhu actor, she did reveal that he enjoyed seeing her laugh.
Shehnaaz was seen dancing at her manager’s engagement party a few months after Sidharth’s death, as readers will recall. While many people were pleased to see her smiling, the Bigg Boss 13 contestant was also mocked for having fun.
“If I have the opportunity to laugh, I will laugh, and I will remain happy.” If I feel like celebrating Diwali, I will do so. Because happiness is vital to one’s well-being. I try to do it on my own as well. This is the first time I’ve mentioned it, and it’s only because you’ve asked me to. Otherwise, no matter who says what, I never talk about these things,” she said. Shehnaaz, visibly upset, recalled Sidharth and added, “Why should I tell anyone about my relationship with Sidharth?” What was the nature of my relationship with him? What was the nature of my friendship with him? I’m not required to answer anyone. How important he was to me, how important I was to him, that I know. So I don’t have to give any explanation to anyone.”
“Sidharth ne mujhe kabhi nahi bola ki has mat,” she added. Sidharth mujhe hamesha haste hue dekhna chahta tha, aur mai hamesha hasungi, aur mai apna kaam jari rakhungi kyunki mujhe bahot aage jaana hai life mein He always wanted to see me laugh, and I will continue to do so. And I’ll keep working because I want to advance in my career).” Shilpa stood up to give Shehnaaz a hug and tell her that she is an inspiration to many people as she became choked up.
Shehnaaz Gill and Sidharth Shukla met on Bigg Boss 13 and became friends almost immediately. Despite the fact that the two were rumoured to be dating, they never spoke about it. Sidharth died of a heart attack in September of last year.
