Nobel Peace Prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, who, as per the available date, showed no sympathy to the Rohingya Muslim community, who lived in the Rakhine state where the community is considered as the illegal migrants, when they were mercilessly persecuted by the Burmese soldiers, has finally reached the disturbed state to personally evaluate the terrible situation prevailing in the state.

Since the emergence of violence, nearly six lakh people belonging to the Rohingya community have fled to the neighbouring states such as Bangladesh.

The de facto leader of Myanmar gave no heed to the repeated calls made by the International organisations and human rights organisations, which, during the Rakhine unrest, expressed serious dissatisfaction in the way in which the Burmese government headed by Ms Suu Kyi handled the crisis.

Though the terror attacks made by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army was the prime reason behind the emergence of the crisis in the state, what happened in the aftermath of the attack proved that the Burmese army was waiting for the creation of such a situation to carry out an extensive ethnic cleansing operation.

The disappointing fact is that Ms Suu Kyi has not yet made any feasible plan to bring back those who fled the country due to the prevalence of fear in the state.
