Defendant arrested for molesting 14-year-old girl: Molested, after being beaten with a hammer

In Thane Ulhasnagar, a man was arrested for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old girl with a hammer, dragging her and sexually assaulting her. Srikanth Gaikwad, 35, was arrested in connection with the incident on Friday night.

The girl was returning from a trip to Shirdi with her friends when she was hit by a hammer and dragged away while walking through the skywalk at the railway station in Ulhasnagar. The girl’s accomplices threatened to kill her if anyone came to her rescue.

Police said the victim was taken to a hut near the railway station. The girl escaped and returned home on Saturday morning. The case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged with the Kalyan Railway Police. The injured girl is being treated at a hospital.
