Bengaluru Flooding – More Rain Forecast As City Battles Chaos

Several regions of Bengaluru have begun to see water recede, but locals and IT hubs are still concerned about the weather department’s predictions of further rain. After two days of torrential rain, which produced images of flooded neighbourhoods and boats saving people, water levels have decreased in a number of locations this morning. After flooded roads caused miles-long backups in traffic, it has now begun to flow normally.

The likelihood of further rain, though, has the locals worried. A mild to moderate rainstorm is “quite likely,” according to the weather department, in the city. This afternoon, Karnataka Minister CN Ashwathnarayan will meet with representatives of numerous IT companies to discuss the issues those businesses are having as a result of the city’s record-breaking rainfall.

Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma, Chief Commissioner of Bengaluru Civic Body Tushar Giri Nath, representatives from the city’s water authority and Urban Development department, as well as Police Commissioner CH Pratap Reddy, will all be present at the meeting.
The gathering will include attendees from Infosys, Wipro, Nasscom, Goldman Sachs, Intel, Tata Consultancy Services, and Philips, the minister told news agency ANI.In numerous regions of the city, the waterlogging caused water supply disruptions and power outages. In affected locations, borewells are being used to close the supply deficit. The state administration has sent out tankers to work in other areas.

The Chief Minister has attributed the predicament to the state’s former JDS-Congress administration. “The haphazard administration of the previous Congress government is to blame for this. They granted clearance everywhere in the lakes and the buffer zone “explained he.
