Couple Axed To Death In Sleep By Domestic Help After Argument Over Food

In Jharkhand’s Gumla district, a 40-year-old man is accused of fatally axing a couple while they slept and gravely injuring their daughter after an argument over food, according to authorities.

The son of the victims in Majhgaon Jamtoli village in the district, who managed to escape the attack unharmed late on Monday night, raised the alarm, which led to neighbours apprehending the suspect and informing the police. The man was employed as a domestic helper in the victims’ home. Richard and Melanie Minz perished as a result of the axe attack, and their daughter Teresa is fighting for her life in a Ranchi hospital.

According to a police officer, the suspect, Satyendra Lakra, claimed that he and Richard Minz got into a quarrel over food a few days prior and that as a result, he had made up his mind to kill the family.

According to Press Trust of India, Satyendra Lakra allegedly said that the family was axed while intoxicated before the home’s owner could kill him.

According to the police, the murder weapon has been found and a case has been filed.

There is an investigation underway. More information is awaited.
